have a positively beautiful weekend | a few links

Have arrived at another weekend yet again -- & although summer may have slowly drifted away, still have a million & one things to do on this autumnal weekend. With letters to write, an evening picnic by the seaside,  a high tea & long walks along the river, there may not be enough time for any other plans! & with Easter just a mere week away there is a long, long weekend to look forward to. . .

Below -- some lovely links, to inspire & delight you at the start of this beautiful weekend:

1. the very first great love story posted on {this is glamorous} -- was such fun [& of course romantic!] to write & research & a short biography [at the bottom of the page] for the site
2. a look into the crystal fortress that was the chanel fall 2012 RTW show -- via lace & tea
3. a sweet & wonderfully girly photo-shoot found on dustjacket attic
4. wanting for EVERYTHING on this page
5. an intimate look into the costumes & design for the madame butterfly ballet

hoping your weekend is off to a positively beautiful start --

Holiday Hair How-To: 2

With invitations beginning to arrive, may need some more holiday hair inspiration for your next event. . .

Step 1-- Use a large-barrel curling iron to create loose curls all around your head, from the ears down.

Step 2-- Part your hair in the middle, and use your fingers to loosen and separate the curls.

Step 3-- Starting halfway down the part, begin spritzing your roots with hairspray. Continue to the crown.

Step 4-- To create height and volume, tease the sprayed hair with a fine-tooth comb.

Step 5-- Use a brush to gently smooth the teased hair, and gather the sides up into a half ponytail.

Step 6-- Secure the sides with pins, then use your fingers to gently shape the curls into place.

Step 7-- End with shine spray.
{A beautiful, bejeweled hair clip would be the perfect accessory. . .}

Holiday Hair How-To

The holidays are almost upon us & with them comes many glamorous soirees & sparkling cocktail parties. . . A sequined dress & red lipstick are a must-- & why not try a delightful new up-do?

Step 1-- Using a round brush, blow-dry hair smooth and straight, focusing on the top sections.

Step 2-- Once dry, use a large-barrel curling iron to create waves from the ears down.

Step 3-- Build height and volume at the crown by teasing hair gently with a fine-tooth comb.

Step 4-- Gather hair into a low ponytail. Twist it along the nape of your neck, pinning as you go.

Step 5-- Once you reach your ear, shape the remaining hair into curls, and pin them back over the twist.

Step 6-- Spritz strands in place.
Step 7-- To add texture, gently curl and scrunch the wispy ends with your fingertips.

Perfectly coiffed & a pop of Spring time colour. . .

". . . look to spring for renewed energy, optimism and
the promise of a brighter day.”
Leatrice Eiseman
Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute

Spring time calls for bright colours, red lips, beautiful bows & ladylike coifs-- lately have wanted to be more adventurous with make up. . .  Not sure that blue eyebrows or exaggerated cats eyes will be my first adventure, but may work up to them. . .

I hope the spring time is making you as happy as it is me,

Joey xx
